Deborah Heltzer: My Physical Story
Here is why I practice Qigong. I am getting old. Everyone does, but I just do not want to go there – I do not want to have aches and pains, I do not want to be weak and tired, I do not want to feel powerless, stuck, and worried about my health. I especially need support for my immune system, which became noticeably dysfunctional when I was about 35 years old. I was eventually diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I became allergic to the world. I felt like I did not belong here, like my body was telling me that. Qigong helps me feel grounded and like I do belong. As I have practiced Qigong, I feel myself becoming younger instead of older. I have more energy, am calmer, and more focused. I have found Qigong beneficial emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I feel better.
I became a Certified Practice Group Leader with Spring Forest Qigong. This allows me to share what I know to be true with others. I also have a Level 2 Reiki qualification, which humbles me and gives me more healing energy.
